Hey JerBears, 🐻

Thanks for being here again! This week I have been reflecting a lot about imposter syndrome. It doesn’t matter if it’s a new job, a new season of life, or something you’ve been quietly working toward. That feeling of “Do I really belong here?” can creep in for anyone.

I think the main reason I struggle with it is because of how overnight everything felt. One day I was working valet and modeling, and the next I’m on TV, then doing shows and brand deals. It all happened fast. I still don’t see myself as famous. To me, I was just on an island with the bros and my homegirls, figuring it out like everyone else.

I know it takes a lot to even be in a position like that, and right now I’m trying to focus on that truth. God doesn’t make mistakes, and I believe I’m here for a reason. Some days it feels easier than others, but I’m learning to take it day by day.

Your annual review, created with Shane Parrish

Behind every successful year is a moment of honest reflection. This workbook, written by Shane Parrish and reMarkable, will guide you through that process, helping you pause, reflect, and pick out patterns.

Most annual reviews look at adding more. More goals, more tasks, more pressure. This one does the opposite. It helps you strip everything back to see what worked, what didn’t, and what to change in the year ahead.

Faith and Mindset🙏🏽

Here’s what I do to stay grounded:

When imposter syndrome shows up, I try to come back to faith and create space to slow my thoughts down. I journal every morning and night. Writing helps me sort through what’s real and what’s just pressure.

I also stay off my phone for the first 30 minutes after waking up and the last 30 minutes before bed. Those quiet moments help me check in with God and remind myself that I don’t have to have everything figured out.

One verse I’ve been sitting with is:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5–6

It’s a reminder that even when things feel uncertain, I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Mental Health Tip: Control vs. Let Go

I’ve also been paying attention to what I’m trying to control versus what I need to let go of. When imposter syndrome shows up, it’s easy to hold on tighter to outcomes, opinions, timing. But faith keeps reminding me that not everything is mine to carry.

I can control how I show up. I have to trust God with the rest.

Book Rec📚

The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday - Turning trials into triumph!

The challenges in front of us aren’t blocking the path, they are the path. This book explains that every obstacle is an opportunity for growth, strength, or clarity depending on how we respond to it. We don’t always get to choose what happens to us, but we do get to choose how we see it and how we move through it.

Seriously. Highly recommend.
